The main purpose of this document is to help people on how to become a virtual engineer on CP Virtual.

What do I need?

1- First of all you need to have Microsoft Train Simulator (MSTS) and all updates instaled.

2- You should have some notions of how drive a train in MSTS. No experience? Don't worry, MSTS has some tutorials for you to get started on how to drive diesel, electric and steam locomotives. And, if you still have any questions or need any hint you can always use our forum!

3- Now you should start downloading portuguese Routes and required add-ons (eg: Xtracks). Right now only the Algarve Route is availabel but soon Portugal Virtual Route, that is under works will also be available!

4- Pay attention to install any add-ons the Routes require. After that you can install the Routes. After installing the Routes you can start installing activities and after that you should install the required rolling stock. Also pay attention to any add-ons the rolling stock may require (for example, Sorefame cars need PT sound pack v2.1). All this information is on this website, in the corresponding sections.

5- Now that you have everything installed and running you are ready to becoma a driving-engineer for CP Virtual. What you should do now is consult the documentation aboin jining us to be familiar with the procedures you should take while to be admited.

6- After beeing admites as an engineer, there are some more procedures you should know. while beeing an engineer on CPv you should be familiar with them so you should read IET nș5 - Rules.

7- If at anytime you wish to give up being a CPV engineer, we ask you to send us a mail informing us of your desire.
