>Mission and Objectives

>With the release, in 2001, of Microsoft Train Simulator  into the software market, we witness the appearence of virtual companies, much as it happens with another great simulation title from the same producer - the acclaimed Flight Simulator.

>O Microsoft Train Simulator is a product specially made for enthusiast of technical simulation in particular and railroad fans in general.

>With Flight Simulator, fans of aviation started flying virtual airplanes but following real world flight procedures, running tight schedules and observing safety preca
utions, as best as can be made with a PC simulation software.  It did not take long for those fans to join together and start emulating real airlines and their operational procedures, as well as creating their own content, modelling their favorite aircraft with the colours of their favourite airline. And thus appeared the concept of Virtual Airlines ( VA ). In Portugal, the most known examples are TAPVA - Transportes Aéreos Portugueses Virtual Airline and Air Luxor Virtual, both recognized by the real airlines.

> With the arrival of a true railroad simulation software, the concept of Virtual Airlines was rapidly adopted by railroad fans and thus we now have Virtual Railroad ( VR ).

>The main objective of CP Virtual is to emulate the operation of trains as run by railway company CP - Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses, EP.

>Our mission is:

-To recreate the rolling stock of CP.

-To recreate all route in Portugal.

-Create activities in accordance to the main objective.

-Maintain a board of virtual managing directors and driving crew's.

>Our contents will not be limited to one single recreation. We intend to recreate rolling stock and routes as they could be found in different eras and stages of development.  We are also committed to make these contents available to more than one simulation software and therefore we will remain alert towards the evolution of the market of railroad software. However, in the pursuit of the main objective, only one software title will be of importance: Microsoft's Train Simulator.
